M5.7 - Sewage Facilities

The sewage facility in my community of Daly City is at the Daly City Water & Wastewater Resources at 153 Lake Merced Blvd., Daly City, CA 94015. It's known to be right next to the Westlake Plaza, and whenever you drive nearby you can most likely smell how bad it is. It's also interesting that there is a neighborhood, playground, and park in the same area with the same parking lot and all. Fun fact I used to play flag football games organized by the Daly City PAL on the field right next to that treatment facility when I was in elementary/middle school.

omg I can't believe they let elementary and middle school kids play on the field right next to the treatment facility! if you ever have health complications down the road, make sure to mention this!! I hope you don't but just in case!

  2. Hi Matt,

Wow, so wild how the waste facility is next to kid play zones. I'm beginning to think this is much more common than we realize :( Also I'm noticing how often I think something may smell bad/funky and then not further wonder how the smell may actually influence my health. This class is really expanding my thinking.
